BCS No More: College Football Needs Playoffs to eliminate the BS by Michael Shull

http://collegefootball.procon.org/

In this current controversial topic, it is not dealing with the world and all its trouble, nor the politics or laws governed, its dealing with a controversy in sports. No not steroids, but college football and its playoff system. Since the beginning of college football season all the way up until now and proceeding to the start of next season, the main thing that will be brought up is the playoff standards and if they are far or not. As of now there is the BCS where the teams are ranked #1-#25, 1 being the best team. To play in BCS the #1 and #2 teams play. However, there are teams that are undefeated, 13-0, that are ranked #13 or #17 and not given the opportunity to play against raw talent and a chance for a better accomplishment. There is the point that a playoff bracket should be used to clear up the mess and have these undefeated teams play against true competition. This topic was so controversial that even the President wants to get in on the debate and shout his opinion that a playoff bracket ordeal should be used because of the unfairness shown to the "under-rated" teams.

In this article the argument is effectively supported with multitudes of various pros's and con's of debate, justifying whether the way the college football playoffs are set up now are fine or they should be changed. Throughout the article, relative evidence is used in just about every sentence, because each sentence is proving a point. For example, whether its talking about the BCS and how its far that the 2 best teams play each other, or how its unfair that Utah went 13-0 the past two seasons and never got the opportunity to play quality opponents. The topic is very argumentative persuasive because fans support their teams and they think they deserve to play better teams. Not only fans, but the coaches, media and even the President. Whether its how its played now or how it should be changed, everyone thinks a un-opportune team should be given the chance to play a a quality top 10 team. This article reaches the intended audience because its getting the opportunity for people to speak out their opinions and share the opinions of players and coaches already with everyone justifying the fairness or unfairness of playoff play in college football.

This article made me feel that these under-rated teams deserve to play higher competition. After watching last seasons college football's BCS game, I saw that #1 Alabama played #2 Texas, where Texas got blown out. But my Ohio State Buckeyes, ranked #17 had one loss but played a not even ranked team and could have beat Alabama. Also, TCU: Texas Christain University, was 13-0, ranked #7 and were thought to be the best team in college football but were not given the oppertunity to shine and played a #6 team. The issue presented should be fixed because teams with talent and prove that they are good, having a undefeated season or one loss. should be given the oppertunity to play other good teams and if they win they keep playing showing they can still play aginst even harder teams.

Into The Blue-Movie

Into the blue. Wow. This movie is very motivational to me and makes me very excited every time i watch it. When a group of divers find themselves in deep trouble with a drug lord after they come upon the illicit cargo of a sunken airplane cannot be played out any better and combine drugs and treasure any better.
Towards the very end of the film, it inspires me that i can take a a group of friends on a trip to the Caribbean to discover a hidden treasure chest and become rich. The fact at the end of the movie is astounding and motivates me to dive on summer down in ocean to search for this hidden treasure. This fact is, there is apparently $16.4 billion dollars worth of unfounded treasure, undiscovered throughout the worlds oceans. After seeing this every time i watch that movie, i always tell my Mom that I'm gathering a group of friends and were becoming sea mates for the summer to look for this treasure.
This movie is very actioned packed. If your the type who likes, action, with some violence and loads of adventure, needless to say, a nice, warm, Caribbean Ocean setting than this is the movie to check out.

Stephen A Smith is the GREATEST, Sports Analysts

Stephen A. Smith, a sports analysts, my idol, someone I enjoy very much listening too when talking about sports. I listen to ESPN Radio 106 Philadelphia every morning listening to Stephen A talk and basically either congratulate or make athletes look like fools for performances they did in the past few games. His way of stating his opinion or just simply talking about a topic is just amazing to me. He speaks whats on his mind and doesn't hold back on saying anything partly why he is either loved or hated by many. I love the man to death for his "commentary" on sports, but non greater than the time he was asked about basketball Kwame Brown being traded to the Memhpis Grizzles for Pau Gasol. Smith rips apart Kwame about how bad this man is at basketball and I just agree completely, but I'd never have the "balls" to rip apart a mans soul like that on national TV. Take a look-

Thesis Statement

Rising Professional Athletes and Professional Athletes are paid way too much money for their age for just tossing ball around and should prove that they are worth the money they are paid. To prove the value of such athletes they should be required to go through a series of physical tests, testing their athleticism, to sure that the scouts from each team see how well they can still or will be able to perform.

Notecard Topics

Legalization of Marijuana- I'm interested because with marijuana being legalized how the government will react to it by taxing it, growing it and distributing it. Also the way the product will be used by people, and how it will be distributed through hospitals/ pharmacy's and who could get it. Also, the way the law will react, since the crime rate is very highly anticipated to distributing marijuana illegally how those rules will be fixed or edited and what will happen to the people doing time in prison for marijuana possession will happen.

Salary of Professional Athletes- This is fascinating because some players are paid way to much for what their performance really stands for, others are highly underpaid, and first year players such as rookies, get either way to much money, and the one's picked later in the draft, whom eventually are break-out players don't get their earnings. Needless to say, a player who is 34 years of age gets a new 5 year deal worth $92.1 million, please, he wont even last 2 years.

College athletes leaving early for professional level sports- This is highly recognized because some athletes leave after one year of eligibility in college, just to make millions, and once their career is over they can't fall back on education. none the less, some players leave high school and skip college, others leave high school after graduation, go to a foreign or European league for a year and then become a professional athlete.

Gambling- Here this is legal, but the fact it turns out to be more than a simple bet for fun at a casino, to betting your own home on a horse race is ridiculous. Especially in sports where ref's are betting on games and changing/ adding points, or making calls against certain players just so the other team has the opportunity to take advantage and win is astounding. Then baseball athletes betting against their own team.

Nickalos Hits Goldmine

After watching the first half of the movie runaway jury, i believe the overall outcome of the movie will be that Nickolas and Marlee will band together and sway the jury toward their opinion that the gun company should be reliable for the deaths of the following people that were killed. Also that Rakin Fitch and his gang will fold and start coming apart towards the end of film because they will start losing strength when nick and Marlee are desperately trying to win the case and money. I believe Nickolas will win and he will try to side with Wendell Rohr as well because nick will take the chance on winning a large amount of money going against the grain saying that the gun company will lose for the first time. In other opinions I had, the movie would not play out that the strong force would always win and the bad guys would continue their streak of not losing, it just doesn't happen all the time.

Against the odds, i had a feeling the jury would side with Rakin saying the gun company could not be held responsible because they have nothing to do with the fact the man killed those people, they just sell guns like every other gun store in the world. Now in all theory again that Nickolas would win this money, and that the gun company would lose is saying in my opinion that Nickolas and Marlee have been researching gun cases for a number of years and have a strong understanding on the case and are in it for the cash. He is also trying to control his jury members and trying to get them to agree with him throughout the film by doing such things like taking them out to lunch with the judge, and saying the pledge of alligence before the one day of trial.

Corey Vs. The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air

I, Corey Lebedda, compare my young, teenage life to someone simialr and fresh like me. His name being, Will, from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Will is portrayed as a young teenager growing up in the streets of California with his aunt and uncle. We share the same everyday values and traditions a male teenager would do. Playing videogames, wearing nice sneakers and clothes, listening to are hip hop music, finding the strong passion for the sport of basketball and any other sport. However, Will and myself found our young years as kids very different.
The most prime example that the fresh prince and i share is the way we like to look. We enjoy looking nice, staying "fly" and rocking fly sneakers when we get dressed and go out. In the case being, I watched a episode of the Fesh Prince and noticed throughout the duration of the half hour program, Will had at least 6 different outfits on. Each outfit was worn with a different colored, vivid t-shirt, a pair of bermuda shorts, and a pair of nice looking sneakers. As myself, i don't wear 4,5,6 different outifts but I'll wear one and plan on looking nice. Always have to wear a nice pair sneakers! Thats me, i enjoy shoes. I collect fly sneakers to wear with my certain outfits. When i saw Will have his collection of sneakers I compared myself right off the bat.

Your either one of two things in this world, you either somebody, or you ain't knowbody

If I had to create a bumper sticker that modeled my philosophy for life, it would be you are either one of two things in this world, your either somebody or you ain't knowbody.

In perspective, this was said by Frank Lucas in the movie American Gangster. i found it to be a very meaningful quote because it has a strong message on the way peoples lives are carried out. in my point of view this is correct. You either are someone doing something for yourself or others in this world, or your acting like a noobdy doing nothing all the time or already acting like someone, meaning you cannot act as yourself. By saying so, that you are someone, in my view means you completed goals in your life. I know I have completed goals in my life and after i complete them i make new ones. Thats my way life as i see it. You set a goal, you break a goal, then you set a new goal. Thats the way life is to me. Whenever you accomplished it you can say you did something in this world to benefit yourself or others.

Now when talking about people who are nobodys then were saying people who dont live life to the fullest and expect for things to happen to them. Thats alright, let them do that. They might not make it very far, but hey thats there choice. These people not setting goals i guess dont strive for new meaning these days.
